A message to the community

I am proud to present to you the 2009 Iowa Health - Des Moines Annual Report. In the report, you will find stories that personalize our mission of healing, caring and teaching. It is my hope that in reading about the contributions of our physicians and staff, you will gain an appreciation for the impact these professionals have - not only on the health of our communities, but on quality of life right here in Central Iowa.

You will also find objective data on how Iowa Health - Des Moines is performing. Despite the economic challenges that have touched every industry in recent months, you will see that Iowa Health - Des Moines has maintained its commitment to providing programs and services of community benefit. We have also included data on how we are performing in relation to state and national benchmarks in a number of clinical areas. We place an emphasis daily on continuing to show quality improvement in these areas. I thank each and every physician and staff member for our excellent performance in regards to quality of care.
