Iowa Lutheran Hospital is First Hospital in Iowa to Receive Quality Certification

UnityPoint Health - Des Moines announced that Iowa Lutheran Hospital is the first hospital in Iowa to be ISO - 9001:2008 certified as of March 1, 2013 by Det Norske Veritas (DNV). According to the certificate, Iowa Lutheran Hospital has implemented a quality management system in accordance with ISO 9000.
"We are incredibly proud to have Iowa Lutheran named the very first hospital in Iowa to receive this quality certification," said Eric Lothe, Vice President of Operations and Chief Administrative Officer at Iowa Lutheran Hospital.
Iowa Lutheran is UnityPoint Health - Des Moines' first hospital to be ISO certified, and will continue to work to accomplish the same certification at Iowa Methodist, Blank Children's and Methodist West.

The scope of ISO 9000 certification includes: provider of health care services including acute medical, surgical, critical care, rehabilitative, obstetrical, emergency care, laboratory and radiology services.
