Story County Medical Center Announces New CEO

Dave Anderson, Chairman of Story Medical's Board of Trustees, announced that Timothy Ahlers, FACHE, has accepted the offer to be the new CEO of Story County Medical Center.
Ahlers earned his BBA, MBA and MHA all from The University of Iowa and has spent the last several years in various leadership positions at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, the most recent being the Vice President of Marketing and Business Development.
He brings valuable leadership experience in hospitals and clinics. Throughout his career he has been successfully responsible for: medical staff alignment, development and recruitment, practice valuation, referral development, new business and program development, all marketing activities, financial analyses and auditing, new construction coordination and planning, and operational process improvements.
"This search was exhaustive. It included many applicants and the input of our board, UnityPoint Health - Des Moines leadership as well as employees and medical staff," said Anderson. "The overwhelming consensus is Tim is a great fit for Story Medical and his experience and skills will be vital to our growth and success and we look forward to continuing the great work being accomplished here."
Ahlers expects to start in early September and Tom Mulrooney, UnityPoint Health - Des Moines will continue to serve as the interim CEO until that time and will work with Ahlers to transition. In accepting the offer, Ahlers said, "One of my first priorities is getting to know the Story Medical family and communities."
Tim enjoys golf, jogging, swimming, skiing and spending time with his family. He, his wife Kate and their three young children will be moving to Story County from Iowa City.
