Iowa Health - Des Moines is pleased to announce Joyce McDanel has accepted an appointment to the position of Vice President, Human Resources for Iowa Health - Des Moines.  She will begin her duties December 1, 2010. 

 McDanel has been involved in healthcare leadership for more than 20 years.  Her experience as an administrator and a COO in other healthcare organizations has prepared her well for her new role as an executive with Iowa Health - Des Moines. In 2005, McDanel joined Iowa Health - Des Moines as the Executive Director of Integrated Services. More recently, she served as the interim Executive Director for John Stoddard Cancer Center.  In those roles, she demonstrated her ability to work with all areas of the organization to accomplish established goals, lead successful change and focus on the development of staff. Her work with Studer Principals, Crucial Conversation facilitation, along with her leadership skills has served in developing people and improving customer service within Iowa Health - Des Moines.

Community involvement is essential for all leaders.  McDanel is actively involved in her home community of Moravia through church, rotary and Chamber of Commerce as well as the Des Moines community.
