State Treasurer Michael L. Fitzgerald awarded a $1,000 College Savings Iowa 529 Plan account to a baby born at Iowa Methodist Hospital, thanks to the Baby 529 College Savings Giveaway.
The Baby 529 College Savings Giveaway program promotes the importance of saving for college. It awards a $1,000 College Savings Iowa account to a baby, selected at random, from all registered babies born in participating hospitals on a monthly basis. Seventy hospitals are currently participating in the program. A list of participating hospitals can be found at www.iowababy529.com.
