The Life expectancy today in America is 77.9 years. This number is pretty high thanks to medical advancements, but this number could be even higher if we all took care of our bodies. Medicine alone will not stop heart attacks and strokes.

What are the best Fruit And Veggies for lowering the chances of a stroke?

Fruits and vegetables with white flesh can help prevent stroke. The old saying "an apple a day keeps the doctor away" rings a little more true than people think. The white of a fruit or vegetable have a flavonoid called quercetin. Quercetin is very good for you, most people only eat an apple a week, if that. Apples only have about 80 calories, so why not have one a day?

Up your Fiber

Fiber is another thing people are not getting enough of in their daily diets. A Harvard study, published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition (1999), showed that men that only consumed 11 grams of fiber lowered their chance of stroke by 36%.

Fiber Tip: Try a Fiber Breakfast. Most cereals are loaded with fiber or even easier, adding a banana or an apple to you daily breakfast will help increase your fiber for the day.
