A study published in the latest edition of Journal of Healthcare Management recognized John Stoddard Cancer Center as one of the best healthcare facilities for website content. Stoddard ranked 7th out of more than 4,000 websites that were analyzed.

Initially 4,037 facilities were identified from American Hospital Association (AHA) data. The study assessed hospital websites in four key criteria: accessibility (ease of use for people with low computer skills), content (freshness, quality and amount of content), marketing (how readily and reliably information can be accessed using search engines), and technology (download speed, site structure, code quality).

Using this data the publication identified top scoring websites in the following categories; Overall Top 25 Health System Websites, Accessibility Scale Top 25 Health Systems, Content Scale Top 25 Health Systems, Marketing Scale Top 25 Health Systems and Technology Scale Top 25 Health Systems.

Stoddard's website received a score of 8.5 out of 10 in the content scale category. The highest website content score went to Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette, Wyoming, whose website received a score of 8.9.

According to the publication the study was conducted in recognition of the need for effective websites within the healthcare industry. According to the Journal of Healthcare Management, hospitals and health systems are at the center of many activities related to health information exchange. Hospitals and health systems are playing increasingly important roles as care coordination hubs and consumer information sources.
