Enjoy Living Well with Des Moines Adult League Sports

Now that the sun is shining and the birds are chirping, the outside world is overflowing with summer fun. Are you ready to enjoy the outdoors and start living well in Des Moines? Then check out the Adult League Sports that are offered by the City of Des Moines Park and Recreation department.

Anyone is allowed to make a team, so go ahead and round up your friends, co-workers, neighbors, everyone else you know.and let's make a team! There's nothing wrong with a little friendly competition. Especially when it involves living well in Des Moines!

Des Moines offers a variety of sports to choose from, including the following:

  • Adult Summer Softball - Begins in May. Separate teams for men and women available. Men can choose from either fast-pitch or coed slow-pitch teams. Women can choose from either slow-pitch or coed slow-pitch teams. Slow-pitch teams can choose either a 14-game or 7-game schedule. Fast-pitch teams will play 14 games.
  • Adult Fall Softball - Begins in August. Consists of a 7-game schedule, including only slow-pitch teams for men or coeds.
  • Adult Flag Football - Begins in September, with separate teams for men and women. Includes a 7-game schedule.
  • Volley Ball - Offered in October and January for coed teams. Each session includes a ten-match schedule.
  • Basketball - Begins in November, with separate teams for men and women.
