Congratulations to Jeff Kerber of Lakeview Counseling Center, for receiving an UnityPoint Health - Des Moines ACE Award. The ACE (Always Committed to Excellence) Awards recognize the outstanding achievements of UnityPoint Health - Des Moines employees. Below is the nomination letter written for Jeff and an example of the great care he provides.

I received a call from a patient who had been to our Lakeview Counseling Center. This patient felt the counselor who saw him did not meet his expectations. I notified Jeff Kerber, manager, and shared the patient's concerns. Jeff took this concern very seriously and called the patient.

Jeff offered to have the patient come in and meet with him. The patient came in, met with Jeff, and Jeff was able to help the patient. The patient left our counseling center feeling much better about the care we provided.

This is an example of Jeff living our CORE values. He could have listened to this patient on the phone and moved on. Instead he offered to have the patient meet with him in person. Jeff was able to help this patient with his behavioral health issues and get him scheduled for future meetings.
