This summer will be full of changes for La Clinica de la Esperanza. One of the most exciting changes is that La Clinica will move to a new location on August 13, which will significantly help the clinic grow and expand its services. La Clinica, currently located at 2679 Maury St., will move to the campus of Des Moines University, located at 3200 Grand Ave.

La Clinica was established in 1995 by UnityPoint Health - Des Moines residency faculty and community organizers who recognized the need for a rapidly growing and underinsured population of Latino women to have access to quality healthcare. Today, La Clinica is a full service family care clinic that offers culturally competent care by providing a bilingual staff.

Also this summer, La Clinica will implement a sliding fee scale. By doing this, La Clinica will be able to accept most insurance plans as well as Medicaid and HAWK-I to help even more families in our community. The sliding scale will be used to determine eligibility for free or reduced medical care. No one will be turned away if unable to pay. La Clinica looks forward to these changes and continuing to serve the needs of our growing community.
