Stephanie, an eight-year-old from southern Iowa, recently donated funds to support cancer research at John Stoddard Cancer Center. Stephanie's uncle passed away from cancer and she decided that she "doesn't want someone else to have to go through" what her uncle went through.
Stephanie gathered all of her money that she had been saving and donated it all, just over $30, to support cancer research.
"What I think makes Stephanie such a beautiful girl is not only her amazingly giving heart, but also the way she thinks so "big" already," said Pati Berger, RN, OCN, oncology research coordinator at Stoddard. "Wanting to help others and sacrificing what she has earned and been given so that it can make the difference in other's lives is an amazing quality for an eight-year-old to possess."
