Course Overview: The ATLS Reverification course has been specifically designed by the Committee on Trauma of the American College of Surgeons to teach primary care physicians, emergency care physicians and surgeons the advanced life-saving techniques and stabilization's procedures necessary within the first hour of trauma management.
The Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) course teaches established standards of trauma care and practical, life-saving skills. The course is designed for the physician who does not treat victims of major trauma regularly, does not have immediate access to sophisticated emergency care facilities. Physicians treating trauma patients in emergency or surgical departments also benefit from this course training.
This is a one-day course conducted with the use of unique skill stations. At each skill station, faculty first demonstrates specific techniques and then participants practice these skills in simulated emergency situations.
