College Volunteers

Volunteer at Iowa Methodist and Blank Children's Hospitals

Volunteers at Iowa Methodist and Blank Children's Hospitals make a difference for our patients, families and staff. Annually, we have opportunities for college students to volunteer at our hospitals. Volunteers assist in many areas of the hospitals with patients, families, visitors and staff.

College students volunteering during the school year need to meet the following requirements:

Currently enrolled in college.

Be 18 years of age or older.

Willing to commit to volunteering for a minimum of 2 to 4 hours once per week.

Must volunteer for two semesters (example - summer and fall, fall and spring, spring and summer).

Must complete a health screening and orientation/placement meeting.

Placements for second semester 2012 are complete. Registration to request an application for summer 2012 placements will begin April 2, 2012. (In order to be considered for summer placement, you must be able to volunteer 10 weeks out of the summer.) An informational meeting will be held Tuesday, May 22 from 3 - 5 p.m. Attendance is required in order to be considered for summer placement.
