The Diabetes Education Programs of UnityPoint Health have been awarded a four-year accreditation renewal from the American Diabetes Association (ADA).
Programs achieving ADA accreditation status have met rigorous national standards in evidenced-based, comprehensive diabetes education programs. The Diabetes Education Programs of UnityPoint Health, which currently include 15 locations throughout Iowa, originally received the certificate of recognition in 2000. The initial certificate of recognition included six sites; additional locations have been added to meet the needs of communities throughout UnityPoint Health.

"This accreditation recognizes our team of certified diabetes educators, registered dietitians, social workers, physician therapists, nurses, pharmacists and physicians as trained experts in educating and caring for people with diabetes.because of this, participants in our diabetes education programs can be assured that they are receiving the best care and tools in diabetes self-management so that they can live a long and healthy life."
