Diabetes Educational Classes
Offered in a group setting, we teach people with type 2 diabetes basic self-care skills and knowledge. This program is designed for people with type 2 diabetes who are not taking insulin.
If you have type 2 diabetes and are just starting insulin, or if you've just been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, this individual consultation will cover education, medication, nutrition, exercise, monitoring and stress management.
Gestational diabetes occurs in 5-7 percent of women during pregnancy. Education is offered for women who have been diagnosed with gestational diabetes or for women who already have type 1 or 2 diabetes and are looking for consultation to assist them through their pregnancy.
Join us to discuss topics of interest to people affected by diabetes.
A two-hour summary outlining the importance of healthy blood sugar control and strategies to get there.
Pre-diabetes is a condition that comes before diabetes. It means that blood sugar levels are higher than normal but aren't high enough to be called diabetes. You are more likely to develop diabetes if lifestyle changes are not considered. To learn more, attend our pre-diabetes program, Small Steps-Big Rewards.
