Our History
Iowa Methodist Day Surgery opened in 1985 and was one of the first outpatient surgery centers in Des Moines. Recently, eye surgery became the dominant specialty at the surgery center. The Laser Eye Center of Iowa in downtown Des Moines began offering Laser Vision Correction procedures in April 1997. In 2007, the two centers merged and combined operations at Day Surgery's 37th Street facility in West Des Moines. Today, we continue to provide each patient with the best eye care available. Our eye surgeons have performed thousands of procedures, reducing our patients' dependency on glasses or contact lenses and correcting vision problems caused by cataracts.
