UnityPoint Health - Des Moines Weight Loss Surgery Specialists offer a support group to all of our surgery patients (even those whose surgery was not performed at UnityPoint Health - Des Moines) and their families. We strongly recommend this support group to all of our patients. A great deal of information is exchanged by interacting with the other patients in the support group. You are not alone in your disease of morbid obesity and you will find that it is much easier to go through this life-changing surgery after talking with many others who have gone through the same thing.

Post-Operative Support Group

We recently added a "post-op" support group for anyone who has already had any type of weight loss surgery.  These meetings are patient-led (no topic, no surgeon). They are held in our waiting room on the same dates as the main support group.
