Waiting Areas

There are specially designed lounge areas for visitors on each patient floor and on the main floor in the lobby. Specific waiting areas have been designated for families of patients in the critical care unit, the emergency department and surgery. During certain hours, a volunteer host or hostess is in the surgery waiting room to keep family members informed about the progress of surgery.

Overnight Accommodations

Guest rooms are available on a limited, first come basis at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Rooms are not accessible to persons using a wheelchair; however, there is accessible lodging near the hospital. For more information or to make a reservation, call 515-263-5132. Patients and families are also welcome to use the Care Inn located next to Iowa Methodist Medical Center at 1300 Woodland Avenue. Call 515-241-3219 for reservations.

After Hours

If you need a hotel after hours, please contact Patient Access (Admitting) at 241-6320 for assistance. The Patient Access staff assign Care Inn beds after hours, so they have access to information about the Care Inn, ILH Hotel rooms and local hotels who provide special rates and shuttle services.
