After Hours Assistance
If you need a hotel after hours, please contact Patient Access (Admitting) at 515-241-6320 for assistance. The Patient Access staff assign Care Inn beds after hours, so they have access to information about the Care Inn, Iowa Lutheran Hospital Hotel rooms and local hotels who provide special rates and shuttle services.

Waiting Areas
There are specially designed lounge areas for visitors on each patient floor and on the main floor in the lobby. Specific waiting areas have been designated for families of patients in the critical care units, the emergency department and surgery. During certain hours, a volunteer host or hostess is in the surgery waiting room to keep family members informed about the progress of surgery.

Overnight Accommodations
We have arrangements with local hotels who may provide special rates and possible shuttle service. Inform the hotel you have a family member at Iowa Methodist Medical Center or Iowa Lutheran Hospital.

The Care Inn, which serves all four of our hospitals, provides accommodations for patients, family and friends. It includes maid service, full in-room kitchens and coin-operated laundry. Daily and weekly room rates are available.

The Ronald McDonald House

The Ronald McDonald House is an option for families that have a child (younger than 21 years) who is a patient at any local hospital. Cost is $10 per night.
