This time of year, it's normal to hear the boom, pop and crackle of fireworks in the distance. But what you might also hear this weekend, are cheers from more than 30,000 music fans gathered at the 80/35 Music Festival in Downtown Des Moines.
80/35 celebrates the resurgence of creativity and inspiration in Des Moines. While Downtown Des Moines struggled to find its voice in entertainment, the non-profit Des Moines Music Coalition was established as an attempt reenergize our music scene. Today, Des Moines is a major attraction on the national music map.
The sixth annual 80/35 Musical Festival will be held July 5th & 6th at Western Gateway Park, specifically at 12th & Locust. 2013 features more than 40 performers from around the nation. This year promises to bring funk and fun to all who attend, and all ages are welcome.
