There are many risk factors that can contribute to heart disease. The more factors you have, the more likely you are to contract heart disease. Women have a much higher chance of contracting heart disease than men. This article gives information and tips on how to greatly reduce your risk of heart disease.

Eat Healthy:

Eat a diet that keeps your heart healthy. Choose foods that are low in saturated fat and cholesterol. Eating a variety of grains, fruits, and vegetables daily is extremely good for your heart as well as your overall health. If you drink alcohol, be sure to only drink it in moderation.

Exercise:

Exercising daily is the best way to keep your heart healthy. Your heart will get better from only working out 30 minutes a day. Riding a bike, running, or even walking are all great ways to lose weight and maintain a healthy heart. Don't have a full 30 minutes to spare? You can work out three times a day for just 10 minutes.

Stop Smoking:

In no way is smoking good for you. Quitting smoking will do wonders for your heart. There is no easy way to quit smoking, but with enough determination anything is possible. Do not be afraid to ask for help or look into some over the counter or prescription drugs.
