Rosie O'Donnell's Heart Attack

During a normal day's routine, Rosie O'Donnell suffered a heart attack and didn't even know it. Ignoring her symptoms placed her body in danger. Sadly, her story happens to be a very common story from women who have had a heart attack.

As a 50 year old woman, Rosie O'Donnell did not think her minor symptoms to be anything more than few aches and pains. August 14th, Rosie was walking in a parking lot heard someone calling for help. As she helped another woman out of her car, Rosie felt fine. As the day continued on though, her body began to ache, particularly in her chest and her arms became sore. 

To Rosie, she thought she was suffering from a pulled muscle from helping the lady out of her car. Once she became nauseous and very hot, she then did a Google search for "womens heart attack symptoms". She knew she had many of them but didn't think it could really be happening to her.

Not realizing that she was having a heart attack, she took an aspirin for pain and went bed. The next day she went to a Cardiologist and was sent straight to a hospital for suffering from a heart attck. Her coronary was 99% blocked. Her type of heart attack is also referred to as "The Widow Maker". Thankfully for Rosie, everything went well with a stent inserted. 

From her story, all women should learn to take heart attack symptoms seriously. Although men usually experience heart attacks and heart disease,  heart disease is a leading killer for women over the age of 25. It kills twice as many women in the United States than all types of cancer combined.
