Hospice

Hospice is a philosophy of care dedicated to serving end-of-life patients and their families with compassion and dignity. A holistic approach, hospice addresses the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of every patient while also providing support for the entire family, even following death.

Hospice care focuses on providing comfort by controlling symptoms and managing pain. When initiated as early as possible in the end-of-life process, hospice can achieve results that benefit the entire family for the maximum amount of time, allowing them to focus on what's most important - living every moment together.

Taylor House Hospice

Taylor House was built to provide care and comfort to terminally ill patients and their families. This beautiful, 12-bed facility is conveniently located on the east-side of Des Moines. Taylor House offers hospice patients and their families an alternative to hospitals and nursing homes and provides patients with a "home-like" setting.

Taylor House is staffed 24-hours a day, seven days a week, with at least one nurse on duty at all times. There are also certified nursing assistants and volunteers.
