Limited Radiologic Technology (LRT) Program
This certificate program offers healthcare professionals the opportunity to achieve the skills needed to perform chest and extremity radiographs. Through classroom and laboratory sessions, students will learn radiographic principles and the positioning techniques required to produce diagnostic images for radiologists & physicians.
The LRT certificate program is approved by the Iowa Department of Public Health - Bureau of Radiological Health.
Documentation of current registration/licensure as a Medical Assistant, RN, or LPN
- OR -
Documentation of enrollment in a Medical Assistant, RN, or LPN program & documentation of completion of a patient care course with a "C" or above

The program consists of 2 semesters and a total of 179 contact hours.
$800 per semester for a total of $1,600.

All classes are held on campus at Iowa Methodist Medical Center - classroom TBA
Class meets on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
All of the following must be met to receive the LRT Certificate:
- A final grade of 73% or above in the coursework
- Satisfactory completion of required competencies - students must be able to bring images to the instructor at Methodist Medical Center for his review and/or images must be accessible through a PACS or other system.
- A score of 73% or above on the Final Mock Registry Review Exam
