Living Donor Resources

Nothing compares to giving the gift of life. According to the National Kidney Foundation, if someone is considering donating a kidney, he or she "must be in good health and have normal kidney function and anatomy." If the potential donor meets the preliminary donation criteria, he or she will need to undergo further testing to ensure kidney compatibility.

The decision to make a living donation is a personal one, and this decision should be made free from pressure. Adequate information should be provided to the potential donor to enable him or her to make an educated decision.
