Our Maternity Centers

Iowa Health Des Moines Maternity Services includes maternity centers at three of our hospitals - Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Iowa Lutheran Hospital and Methodist West Hospital. In choosing from our maternity centers in Des Moines, no matter which Iowa Health hospital you choose, you will find experienced and caring physicians, nurses and support staff who will help you welcome the newest member of your family. They are here to respond to your needs with the highest level of skill, professionalism and compassion.

One of the many things that makes Iowa Health Maternity Services unique is our close partnership with Blank Children's Hospital. If the need arises, Blank Children's Hospital physicians and specialists are on hand at each of our maternity centers to provide neonatal support. This added level of support is intended to provide you with the comfort and assurance that the safety of your newborn is our priority.

At Iowa Methodist we are physically connected to Blank Children's Hospital with a direct walk-way to the Blank Children's Level III NICU.
At Iowa Lutheran, a member of the Blank Children's Neonatal Transport Team will attend each delivery.
At Methodist West, an on-site Blank Neonatal Nurse Practitioner is available 24/7 to assist in deliveries and to provide support.
