I like to remind people about the importance of doing a mix of both strength training and cardiovascular exercise. When you do a circuit of strength training moves with little rest between them, you cause your heart rate to go up quickly and then come back down. This raises metabolism, and you burn far more calories in a 24 hour period after exercise than you do doing what we call "steady state cardio," where you reach a target heart rate and stay there for the bulk of the exercise time. Also, make sure to eat more protein. If you are trying to lose weight, consider eating half of your body weight in grams of protein daily, spread out over about three hour intervals. Also, drink plenty of water, and remember that some fats are good and necessary to burn more calories, including nuts, avocado and dark chocolate.
