If you are entering eighth grade through eleventh grade (minimum age is 14), are willing to give a minimum of six months of your time and would like to share your skills and time to help patients and hospital staff, please fill out the teen volunteer web form. Teen volunteers meet year round, and current openings are for Tuesday nights. Volunteens brighten the days of patients by delivering cards and flowers and patient visiting and assist staff in various ways such as escorting visitors, restocking supplies, folding surgery gowns, etc. Please contact Holly Porter at porterha@ihs.org with any questions.

Teen Volunteers at Iowa Methodist

If you are entering eighth grade through eleventh grade (minimum age is 14), are willing to give a minimum of six months of your time and would like to learn about the healthcare field, build friendships, develop leadership skills and have fun while donating your time, the Volunteen Program at Iowa Methodist Medical Center is for you! Come join our team of student volunteers. Students are required to have this year's annual flu shot upon entry into the program.

Iowa Methodist
Piano - Share your talent by playing a grand piano to providing background music in the main lobby area. If you are interested in this position, please email Sheri Vining at viningss@ihs.org.

Gift Shop - Would you enjoy interacting with the public in a fun retail environment? Do you have great customer service skills? We are looking for individuals to help in our Gift Shop. Volunteers assist customers, ring up sales and help keep the shop organized. We are seeking volunteers for this position. Must be age 16 to 18-years-old to apply for this position.

Blank Children's
We do not have teen volunteer opportunities available at Blank Children's Hospital. Individuals must be age 18 or older. No high school students, and 18-year-olds need to be in college. However, Blank Children's Hospital does encourage volunteer groups to help provide an assortment of items for patients.
